The Girl Who Struck Out Babe Ruth

Are you looking for a high-energy, interactive presentation for your afterschool or out-of-school program?

Wearing a replica of a 1931 baseball uniform,  I dramatize the true story of Jackie Mitchell, the seventeen-year-old girl who struck out Babe Ruth. Following the presentation, I show the footage of the actual strikeout.

Extra:  Students are welcome to talk with me about my life as an author and the process of writing a book.  Upon request, I can lead short writing activities.

Group size:  Unlimited

Age:  All grade levels

Presentation length:  Approximately 30 minutes

Cost:  The South Dakota Humanities Council (SDHC) Speakers Bureau is able to fund a generous portion of my honorarium and expenses.  Please contact me for details.  Send me an email jean@jeanpatrick.com or call me at 605 - 996-2110.

*** Further discounts are available if scheduled with a
